'What's the Mechanism Behind Your Motivation?'
'Gaining Control of Your Plan'
Freedom,. . . What is it? . . . Is it the ability to leap great lengths? . . . Or, is it the ability to lift the earth above your head, like the ‘Titan’ in ‘Greek Mythology’, Atlas? . . .
Almost all of the ‘Greats’ have their stories of what they did to achieve their amazing athletic feats.
. . . And later they will make a documentary about their journey of how they became the best in their field.
Through the screens of the television, we gaze upon them in awe and idoilze their feats, their clothing brands, their fame . . .
It inspires us to work hard ourselves, give us hope, and inspires us to buy their clothes so we can ‘be like them’, and may be . . . just may be, . . .if we dress like them, and workout at the same times they do, and put in the same effort, . . . then we too, will get to that level of athleticism, recognition, and lifestyle.
. . . What most of us really want though, . . . is to feel good, accomplished, and to be recognized when we do something good, and when we accomplish something.
. . .Motivation is fleeting and unpredictable, . . .discipline allows us to perform when we ‘aren’t’ motivated . . . these athletes - ‘The Greats’, have this practice down to a ‘T’.
For discipline is the practice behind the mindset of the athlete that allows them to ‘physically’ perform consistently - this fuels the method behind their training, and helps them develop the structure they need to develop and follow through with their plans.
When it comes to their plans for achieving their athleticism, they have family, friends, may be a nutritionist, and a coach, to help them execute on those plans. They have something else though, something that only ‘they’ can see - Their VISION.
Most of us don’t have a vision that we keep in our heads, we don’t see what we ‘want’ in the future, we only see the future that’s their as a product of our reactivity. These top-level athletes have vision in their head of the shot they’re going to perform in Basketball; the perfect lift they’re going to perform in their Strong Man competition; the perfect bat in Cricket, or the perfect landing in Dance or Cheer-leading.
Most of us feel ‘out of control’ because we’re sometimes unaware that we are continuously reacting to the environment around us: the driver that ‘cut out in front’ of us; or the person that jumped the cue in a restaurant . . .
How can you achieve anything or be ‘in control’ of anything, if you are always reacting?
Thanks so much for reading guys!
I appreciate your support.
