THE PRINCIPLES OF EXERCISE AND NATUROPATHY (PART II)
Hi everyone!
Welcome to PART II!
Intro . . .
In PART I, I went over how to begin drafting your blueprint and went over the basic principles that you must prioritize to structure your fitness AND health; such as:
Plan Structure
SLEEP!
Nutrition
And, Hydration.
A re-post of one of my other designs.
Apply The Principles of Naturopathic Medicine . . . ?
Today I am going to address the principles of naturopathy to give you a perspective of a ‘wholistic approach’. These principles are to further your understanding of what you learned in ‘PART I.’
With Bradley’s nutritonal and exercise advice given during our weekly sessions I have managed to loose over two stone.
My fitness levels have improved massively as well as balance and posture which Bradley pays particular attention to.
I was delighted when my Doctor said to carry on what I was doing as I was no longer in the danger zone for the blood pressure tablets.
These principles are:
The Healing Power of Nature - The body itself is a healing power.
Treat the Whole Person - The body is an intricate web of forces, which, when they are in a harmonious state, produce a healthy body.
First, Do No Harm - Using non-invasive therapies to treat the whole person.
Identify and Treat the Cause of the Disease or Symptom - symptoms are not the cause of any disease, examples: pain, elevated blood sugar, swelling, elevated cholesterol, dry skin, etc. These are all symptoms, and not causes.
Prevention is the Best Cure - education on how to eat, supplement, and are given tools to speed up the healing process, such as apple cider vinegar in promoting digestion, etc.
Teaching People How to be Responsible for Their Own Health - such as eating pattern, supplementation, lifestyle factors etc.
REMEMBER: When you exercise, you are in a catabolic state meaning the body is breaking down; but also remember, that when you are exercise, it actually causes inflammation, which is another reason why you supplement, hydrate, eat food, and sleep!
You are breaking the body down to build it back up even stronger and more durable than before - that’s the idea behind exercising in the first place.
The F.I.T.T. Principle
Now, with the principles of naturopathy addressed, I can now move onto the principles of exercise, that you may recall in an earlier article - they are:
Frequency
Intensity
Time
and Type
Otherwise, collectively known as the ‘FITT’ principle. This is designed to guide each of your individual workouts and apply to each of your fitness microcycles, and, on a larger scale, to your fitness mesocycles.

A re-post of one of my earlier designs
It applies to training each component of fitness, like: cardio or strength.
Recovery & Sleep
‘Why did you address the principles of naturopathy first, if at all?’ You may be asking.
It’s Important to understand how to recover and putting a recovery plan in place BEFORE you go working your ass off!
Additionally, looking at things wholly helps you figure out parts of recovery that you may have missed.
The reason for emphasizing sleep so much is because we live in an industrial world where we’re on technology most of our lives - therefore, it’s much harder to get sleep.
Those of you who are older enough to remember, think about life BEFORE THE INTERNET, how much more peaceful was it?! You didn’t have people snap chatting, FB messaging, or emailing you 24/F******7!
This is why I address these principles wholeheartedly and with faith, that you guys will be disciplined enough to say ‘NO,’ my health is important', and my goals are important!’
