Mal-Practice

The Link to Competition

Malpractice is something that we see in all industries, albeit, they may present themselves differently, but anyone paying a little bit of attention, and who cares, WILL call them out on it.

Whether it being the form of a colleague telling them straight; through a review, or over the counter at a shop, but sadly, because we live in this Gen-Z culture, people have lost their ability to communicate, particularly the younger ones - so probably reviews or blasting them on Instagram.

I saw something in Greggs (on the morning of Friday 22/03/24) that I don’t normally see: both people on shift were not wearing gloves when making a breakfast sandwich for another customer, they then proceeded to make my fiancé’s and I’s drink - we are both allergic to gluten.

Now, even if we weren’t, not wearing gloves when dealing in a catering industry, is not only potentially dangerous, it’s basic Food Hygiene 101*.

Would you enter a facility knowing they have bad practice on food hygiene?

Would you knowingly bring your family to a restaurant or catering facility if you knew they didn’t practice basic food hygiene? Hell NO!

Because you knew your risk of getting ill would go up, regardless of whether you have an allergy or not.

Let’s tie this to exercise shall we? Let’s say you got ill all of a sudden and you had an event coming up - Strong Man, CrossFit, a 10K, a ½ Marathon, or whatever - how would you respond? Because I’d be fucking pissed!

Too much? Okay, then let’s take this down a peg - do you care about looking after your body in general? Okay, then how would you feel if your progress was slowed down, or even halted for a few days? Again, the answer ain’t good.

From a family and socialising perspective, you would stay home because you wouldn’t want any of your friends to catch it.

I don’t normally do this type of article, but I am very grateful for your time, and I wish you great health and great performance! Bye for now!
