The Duality of Fitness

PART I

‘Fitness is the cornerstone of Good Health’ - We hear this all the time and yet, it is completely false. Athletes dropping dead, people gaining bone & joint problems, it happens all the time. This is why nutrition, sleep and hydration are so important.

So what do you (The Audience), think about when you think about health?

What enters your mind?

And what does health mean to you?

These are questions that we really have to ask ourselves when we go to the gym, to the grocery store.

Fitness doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be healthy, and yet, you need a certain level of fitness to be healthy, see the nuance?

___________________________

You need to be active to perform your activities of daily living (ADL’s). And in the gym you want to ‘CRUSH IT’ now that we’ve entered the NEW YEAR. The TRUTH is there are many fitness plans that will work for you; many coaches that you could seek out for guidance on technique and how to use the equipment to the BEST of your ability, but the ONE THING that will ALWAYS remain TRUE for EVERYBODY is the fact that you, me, and everybody else NEEDS the 90 ESSENTIAL NUTRIENTS for:

  • Hormone production - progesterone, testosterone, oestrogen, cortisol, etc.

  • Osmosis (water balance in the body)

  • Signalling from the brain to the muscles at the neuromuscular junction - the threshold between the nervous system and the muscle system

  • Protein synthesis - your body’s ability to make new proteins

  • Wound healing - like when you get a cut on your hand

  • Synthesizing new bone matrix, and bone turnover

  • Energy levels!

  • And cleaning out toxins from your body!

All of these functions (and more) require OPTIMAL NUTRITION, and when you EXERCISE you actually need more, beyond your traditional 1800-24000kcals or whatever is your baseline.

Thanks for taking the time to read this guys, and as always I appreciate you!
