The Confidence In Knowing Your Plan, . . . It's Everything!
Hi everyone!
Today, I am going to discuss with you why it’s important to have a purpose going into each fitness session.
It helps you develop the consistency you need to show up every day.
Think about it, if your doctor said you needed to lose weight otherwise you could fall ill. . . or worse, would you get your but to the gym?
I bet you would!

Today, I wanted to talk to you all about structuring your workouts to the max and following them up with persistent, and intentional action!
Below is an example of one of the plans I’ve created for my own training in the past.

The Intent
When you follow them up with intentional action it means that you’re following them up with purpose - you know the meaning behind ‘why’ you’re doing the workouts in the first place.
This meaning should be large enough to fuel the desire you want for your body, the competition or adventure you want to compete in, or WIN.
When you have a full structure and you intentionally go after your fitness goals, then you end up feeling fulfilled.
Below is an example of me following my plan to compete in a local CrossFit competition in late 2025.
Notice that I’ve stripped things down to the bare minimum and started focusing only on technique to improve my strength. (Which is odd, because you guys know how impatient I can be - I’m just an urgent person).
Providing Yourself with Clarity
Breaking your fitness plans down into a weekly plan like the first picture, and then breaking them down further into the exercises you are going to perform, helps bring clarity.
Look at your plans and follow them to the letter - this in itself, provides guidance and provides you with confidence that you know what you’re doing when you go to the gym.
When you have that structure in place, it provides you with a type of assertiveness and almost ‘comfort’ in yourself, because you have that plan and structure in place.

And even if you don’t follow the structure to the letter, you can still use it as a guide, and adapt some of your exercises and sessions within that structure.
Consistency . . .
Ultimately, you will build a consistency that will set you on a path to become a more durable, more energetic you.
…Assessing my progress against very well-defined goals is always a brilliant way to blow up any complacency that might be seeping into my mindset.
- Eddie ‘The Beast’ Hall
This is such an Important lesson to take away from Eddie’s experience. How often have we all let complacency creep in because our goals weren’t definitive enough, Or we just weren’t aware enough at the time?
We are tired, true, but if we give in to being tired all the time, consistently, then this is the type of consistency that ‘kills your dreams,’ your goals; all for the expense of an extra 30 minutes or however much extra time is needed.
The scary thing is, we have a limited time on earth, so, how do you want to spend it?
Following your plans is an excellent way to provide your life with structure and purpose, eventually leaving you fulfilled and with the type of wisdom you want to pass on to your children, so they can grow up and become a shining example to their community.
Fitness is beyond just being fit, it can be the culmination of your mental toughness, and can provide positive examples to your community.
People have built real, long-lasting relationships through fitness, I met my fiancé in a gym!
It connects us, inspires us to greatness, and gives us meaning. And when we back that meaning up with a well-defined plan like Eddie Hall, Ross Edgely, and so many others, then oh boy, watch out!

1 Having a plan and knowing that you can execute on each of those sessions withing that plan, is paramount to your success, and potentially, your families success. Having structure provides purpose and that purpose can feed into your consistency on showing up to your sessions. These are fundamentals that anyone needs to practice before they even pick up a weight or jump on a treadmill.
