Can You Workout & Work?
Logistics & Planning
Planning isn’t everything, but it bloody helps!
I have recently started thoroughly planning my fitness thoroughly, in-keeping with my work schedule, which, any of you who work in a constantly changing work environment will know, is difficult to do!
But NOT impossible . . .
I am always checking my phone or looking at the on-the-wall-schedules at work, then use those time to update my fitness schedule - it helps keep my training grounded to what’s actually going to be possible for me during that week.
This is including my REST days.
Because as many of you know, I currently work at Starbucks, and our schedule gets posted two weeks in advance, not monthly; so, if I suddenly find out that if on a Monday, I’m scheduled in for a 9-hour shift, then there is no way that I am gonna do two sessions that day, may be not even one, so the REST day will be brought forward.
It’s a level of awareness that I’m glad I’ve developed - and you can develop it too!
Sometimes though, I have seen people take this too far and they’ll take way longer than they really need to. Then, they struggle to get back into their routine.
Schedule your session days according to your shifts - if you’re only working 5-6 hours that day, then you can DEFINITELY fit a workout in!
Judge your energy levels objectively and be honest with yourself!
Can you physically perform a workout today? Then adapt accordingly.
Thanks again for your support, and taking the time to read this during this fast-paced world!
You guys are awesome!
