'How to Catch Yourself Slipping Off the Track'
One . . .

(*Whistle Goes!) . . .
And They’re Off!!
Track and Field events are one of the oldest and most traditional forms of exercise and sporting competitions, dating all the way back to the Roman Empire and the Ancient Greeks. They gathered in crowds to fill up coliseums, to bare witness to, and cheer on competitors of the highest caliber; and they demanded a WINNER!
When you picture going to the gym, how does it make you feel? What visions and pictures enter your mind? And what will you go there to conquer?
There are important questions you need to ask yourself when you want to achieve a particular fitnes level and skill:
What do I want from this?
Is it worth the time doing?
How much effort am I going to put in?
Can I do it even when I feel like shit?
How often am I going to go, to put in the effort?
And the MOST important: Can I picture the ‘ME’ that I want?
Most people appear to lose the picture they want of themselves in their mind, over time. They lose sight of where they want to be and either, take their foot off the ‘gas pedal’, or end up quitting altogether.
This is where Personal Excellence comes into play because personal excellence is bred by you doing tasks consistently every day regardless of how you feel. When you complete tasks every day consistently and tick them of your list, you start to create momentum. You flick through the pages of your note book and start to notice how productive you are, and this creates Awareness.
When you become aware of your where you’ve taken your foot of the ‘gas pedal’, you’re more likely to catch it earlier than most. Then you can pivot and get back on track faster.
This is how you can improve a skill set that most people lack: Personal Awareness of Weaknesses.
You can apply this methid to any area in your life: your relationships (both, personal, and professional), your performance at work, and, your fitness and health.
Like anything, this awareness and ability to pivot back on track, is a skill and therefore, must be practiced.
In a competitive environment, such as a gym PB against your mates, or a sporting event, this will come in handy!
