ACTS OF COURAGE

A LESSON IN PREPARING FOR COMPETITION

Hi everyone!

Today, I wanted to talk about ‘throwing yourself in the deep end’.

I believe some people respond better to the attitude of ‘All In’. And when you throw them headfirst into the deep end, they show you their true character - and that is a blessing for those people.

When you come across a new exercise, new combination of exercises, or even a competition for the first time, you respond to it with excitement, confidence, and determination! . . . the adrenaline is pumping through your veins and you want to prove to yourself and the ‘nay-sayers’ that YOU are more than capable, and it is YOU that is going to triumph today and kick some ass!

This is how people develop courage: courage with trying new things, and repeating over and over and over again, until you have developed enough courage that it becomes a very part of your make-up.

Think about how people respond, physiologically, to stress - palms get sweaty, body temperature rises, your body may shake, adrenaline pumps through your veins, and you start to anticipate what might be - the only difference is HOW THAT PERSON INTREPETS THIS FEELING.

A person may interpret this feeling is excitement OR nerves. Through will power and practice of acts of courage, you can convince yourself these feelings as excitement - REMEMBER THIS LESSON WHEN YOU’RE COMPETING IN COMPETITION, ADVENTURE, OR AGAINST A FRIEND (especially if you’re a competitive person)
